We have a place to live!

We moved into our new flat yesterday. It is the ground floor of a house that is owned by a older lady. The flat is pretty nice and has an ocean view out of the kitchen window. It took about 30 minutes to move in and unpack since we only have clothes. We don't currently have an internet connection at the flat so we are posting this from the Takapuna library. I will update the blog with some pictures of the flat next week.

On other news, we went car and grocery shopping yesterday. We are looking at a 2007 Toyota Corrola. Car shopping here is interesting- you just pick the model and color that you want. They don't have 'package' options so the choices are pretty limited. They also don't negotiate on price. We are going to look at some other car options today and hopefully make a final decision so we can get something next week.

PakAndSave is the national discount grocery. It is in the warehouse style. You don't get bags when you check, they just put the groceries back in your cart and you figure out how to get it all loaded into your car. They have a fruit/veggie section, meat counter etc. Eggs are not sold cold, they are just along and isle. Rubbish conservation is pretty big in NZ. They are big into recyling and are trying to limit what goes into land fills. Many items are sold without the standard packaging.

That is it for now. We are doing more car shopping today and looking at a couple open houses.

Hi, Oh, how I would love a ocean view! We had a very nice day here today, high in the 70s. Good night for the trick or treaters for once. Shopping does sound interesting! You should have kept some of thoes nice cloth bags for getting grocerys in, Lisa. Hope you can find the right car. Did you see Linda or Pat? Have a nice weekend.

John good luck on your first day at work - or maybe it's over by now?

Take care - Anita
