Our container arrived on time and in very good shape. The wall that John and Denny built held up great. The van line guys actually had a little problem getting the boards out as they were wedged in pretty good. Four guys from NZ van lines unloaded the container in about 45 minutes. They took everything into the house and put it in the proper room.
All the kitchen items are unpacked and nothing broke or chipped in the journey. I also got to sleep in my own bed last night!!!!
While unloading, there were 41 items that had to be set aside for MAF (Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry) inspection. MAF is in charge of Bio Security for NZ. MAF wanted to inspect Christmas items (to make sure there were not any pinecones), camping gear, bikes, garden equipment, patio furniture, wicker products, and food. The MAF inspector said he was impressed with how clean our stuff was and didn't have issue with any of the items. He said there have problems with stuff coming from the US as oftentimes packing companies pack everything up and don't clean stuff or get ride of banned items.
You can go to this link for pictures of our empty house. I will post new pictures as we get some remodeling done.
