Eight months down

We have passed the 8 month mark in New Zealand. A lot has happened over that time and we are settling in fairly well.

Saturday was the day that the boob tube arrived. We have been going without a tv since we moved down here. John was able to buy a flat screen through work. The guy that he made the purchase through said 'I am not responsible for all the wasted hours you spend in front of it'. We have put in our share of couch time the last few days!

We decided to contract out the bathroom and flooring work for the house. The bathroom guy started on Monday and a guy is in tomorrow to do tiling in the kitchen.

I am hoping to get out of the front of the tv and do something fun this weekend. We have been working to hard at the house and the jobs the last few weeks.

Hey there John & Lisa!

I feel I should introduce myself.
My name is Martin H. I heard of your blog from Ryan at Pioneer.
I work for Control Installations of Iowa and I'm working with Ryan to firewall our DVR's.
Ryan discovered I was from NZ and told me your story.

I am responsible for telling Dena about your blog. I also told about 10 other Kiwi's I know here in Des Moines. (Hope you don't mind).

Actually one of the Kiwi's I told works at Pioneer as did my brother many years ago. Anyway like I said just wanted to say hi & let you know I enjoy your blog.

Happy 4th of July!

Martin.

Hi Martin. Thanks for saying hi and I am glad people are enjoying the blog. As I am sure you know, John used to work at Pioneer and he worked with Ryan. We have had a couple emails with Dena and are happy to help out. John was in contact with people from the US that had moved to Wellington before we moved. It was helpful to have a connection to ask questions of. Keep passing on the blog!
