We survived the snow

NZ has been going through an extreme cold front for the last couple days. Today, there was snow in downtown Auckland for the first time since July 1939. This was just a short snow shower, but it was enough to get everyone looking out the windows at work for a few minutes. This will hopefully be the last of winter storms for this year - especially since John hopes to close on our new boat in the next few days. After much looking at boat options, we settled on a 28ft Davidson sail boat. The out of water inspection for the boat is scheduled for tomorrow. If that goes well, it should be ours by the end of the week. The boat sleeps 6 so there is plenty of room for visitors.

John and I are off to take advantage of all the snow this weekend. We are heading to Mt Hutt outside of Christchurch to go skiing. This will be our first time out skiing in a couple years. Our trip last year was cancelled as this was scheduled for the weekend when the first big earthquake hit.
